3. POW Camp

Walk through the main gates, keeping right (past the play area), head towards the Pavillion and follow the path. As you leave the park, look behind you, and the plaque is on the granite wall (at hip height).

POW CAMP No. 42 (Above) is the former Prisoner Of War camp, known simply as Camp 42, housing Italian, German and later Russian prisoners.
